For the foreseeable future, most of us will be spending our work day on video platforms. In the hot days of summer, it’s a good time to take a break and laugh a little at our life.

  • SNL’s recent sketch  of a church service conducted on Zoom
  • YouTube comedy group Warp Zone created a funny look at how we use Zoom, set to the Brady Bunch opening theme. It’s complete with the nine-box thumbnail (sans Alice in the middle).
  • The original cast of Hamilton perform Helpless in acapella on a Zoom link with Jimmy Fallon
  • Progressive Insurance produced this commercial like it was a video call.
  • The Holderman Family creates scores of entertaining videos about family life. This hip-hop song pokes fun at how we have to work from home amid all the usual dog and kid distractions.
  • We don’t recommend using Zoom background because without a greenscreen and proper lighting, your head will fade away and merge with the image. However, if you want a few background ideas, somecards.com compiled a list of their top 21 funniest Zoom backgrounds that includes everything from the bridge of the starship Enterprise to the cutaway location from the TV show The Office.
  • Artist Stefanie Trilling created a series of children’s book covers including Goodnight Zoom and Frog and Toad are Social Distancing.
  • Finally, comedian Steve Martin performed a brilliant musical number with the Philadelphia Orchestra remotely using a video platform.
